Inn Yard Park playground to open this weekend

An idea sparked by two East Falls mothers will become a reality at a local park this weekend.

On Saturday, local officials will join neighborhood residents for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the playground at Inn Yard Park on Ridge Avenue in East Falls.

Jennifer Arnoldi and Sarah Taylor spearheaded the project which quickly garnered the support of the community and eventually brought in more than $190,000 in funds from Councilman Curtis Jones Jr.’s office.

Officials are also trying to get more funding from Westrum Development Corp., to hold up on a former agreement they made to match funds in the playground project.
