In deep soup

Despite plans to increase soup sales in the next fiscal year, Campbell’s has announced it will lower its target sales numbers for 2011. Sales are expected to decline 1 percent, and earnings will decline 6 percent in the first quarter.
The drop seems to be a trend. Sales for Campbell’s fell 4 percent for FY 2010, compared to a 5 percent gain in 2009. The company now expects 1 percent to 3 percent gains for FY 2011, as opposed to the original 2 percent to 3 percent projected gains. MarketWatch has more details.
