House gives final approval to Maine’s move to claim whoopie pie

    Looks like Pennsylvania will lose this battle. The House of Representatives has given final approval to Maine’s motion to make the whoopie pie its official state treat, the Associated Press reports.

    The battle’s been raging between Maine and Pennsylvania for a month, but all that’s left now is Senate and gubernatorial approval in Maine. A bakery there has already made a jumbo-size version of the chocolate-and-cream treat.
