Home invasions
The crime issue was a big part of the recently completed Wilmington Democratic primary. In June, Governor Jack Markell signed a bill into law that makes home invasions a crime. Before then, the crime was categorized as burglary, and often, state lawmakers say, the punishment did not fit the crime, that is, until now.
