Help wanted: Dauphin County establishes volunteer flod cleanup crews

Dauphin County is looking for a little help from its residents after severe storms and flooding tore through the area this week.

The Patriot-News reports County Commissioners are asking for volunteers to help clean up from the recent flooding.

Residents who live above Peter’s Mountain are asked to call the Northern Dauphin County Human Services Center at 717-827-4640.  Other residents are asked to call the county’s Human Services Department at 717-780-6288.

The Patriot-News reports Commissioners Jeff Haste, Mike Pries and George Hartwick, III have also approved a plan to allow the county’s 1,700 employees to devote up to eight hours of county time to assist in the cleanup efforts.
