Rage against the machine
As the debate over high-tech airport scanning rages on, MyFoxPhilly.com reports that some are calling for a boycott of body scanners on the day before Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year.
The organizers of national “Opt Out Day” aims to make its point by urging travelers to skip the scan in favor of the more time-consuming pat-down procedure. Airport personnel aren’t too thrilled about the security measures either: Two pilots have filed suits claiming that enhanced body scanners and pat-down procedures violate their constitutional right to be free from unreasonable searches.
