Haverford will end leaf composting service after residents complain of smell

Haverford and Marple townships residents are finally getting rid of their smelly leaf composting service. That also means they’re losing free compost privileges and the revenue that pays for the brine program.
Patch reports Haverford Township has decided to abandon the program after years of complaints from residents about the smell. Haverford will instead collect leaves to be picked up by a vendor and taken to the Delaware County Disposal Yard in Chester.

The townships are considering alternative ways to compost leaves.
