Hansberry Garden to host Mother’s Day Eve flea market and plant sale

This Saturday, the Hansberry Garden and Nature Center will host an event featuring the sales of both plants and baked goods along with a flea market.

The non-profit center, located at 5150 Wayne Ave., is a community organic garden and environmental-education resource in Southwest Germantown.

“There will be homemade pie at the bake sale,” said Victoria Mehl, HGNC president. “Stop by for delicious treats and great shopping.”

Just in time for Mother’s Day, the event will have an array of gift ideas including “organic veggies and herbs, native plants, house plants, perennials and Mom’s Day flowers,” according to Cherron Thomas, the center’s membership chair.
