Halladay, cover boy

Phillies ace Roy Halladay was selected to be the cover athlete for a new video game called Major League Baseball, which is set to hit the XBox and other consoles in the spring, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Halliday threw a perfect game this year and a no-hitter during the playoffs, and he looks hot for this year’s Cy Young Award, which will be announced tomorrow.

The cover kudos makes a Phil’s fan hope it’s not like the infamous “SI cover jinx.” Players and whole teams have crashed after being featured in that spot.

Then again, maybe the last few team outings have paid enough into the choke bank for Halladay to come out of this one unscathed.

I’m wondering, are other Phillies fans comfortable seeing Halladay on a cover spread before that much anticipated second series comes around?
