Gumby statue stolen from Delaware artist’s yard

Gumby has been kidnapped. And that, folks, is a felony. A yellow Gumby-replica statue was stolen from his creator’s front lawn Sunday.

The statue is worth enough to warrant felony charges, but Phil Fisher says he just wants the not-so-little guy back. Fisher, of Arden, Del., created the Gumby statue for the Arden Fair last fall. When the arts and antiques events was over, he planted Gumby in the front yard for passersby to enjoy, as NBC10 reports. Or, apparently, steal.

The yellow Gumby stands 5 feet tall, weighs 90 pounds and is worth $2,500 to $3,000. Anyone who’s spotted the statue is asked to call 302-761-6677.
