Group forms to address concerns facing Delaware inland bays

A new advocacy group has come together to advocate for southern Delaware’s sensitive inland bays.

The Inland Bays Foundation held its first meeting this month.  The Foundation is expected to be modeled after a similar effort in Maryland that researches and reports on water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.  The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and the existing Delaware Center for the Inland Bays are expected to work in cooperation with the new foundation.

The organization’s President, Bill Moyer, says he’d like to see the General Assembly approve a task force and hold hearings on issues affecting the watershed.
