Greene Street Friends School kicked off its “year-long theme of ‘Community'” on Friday with an all-school assembly at the school’s playground.

Community, said the school, is a GSFS core value and one of the Quaker testimonies (the others: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Equality and Stewardship).

The morning event included singing, speeches, poetry and “the wave.”

Then, on Friday night, GSFS hosted its Parents Association Family Dinner, a potluck barbeque that attracted hundreds.
