Green N.J.

Nearly 70 New Jersey municipalities have been designated as leading green communities. The recognition comes from Sustainable Jersey, a two-year-old program that helps towns assess their green programs.

Sixty-seven towns have now met the minimum requirements for leading green communities for their participation in sustainable practices like natural resource inventories, solar panel usage, expanded recycling programs and open space preservation.
