Green for green

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has allotted $500,000 to Rehoboth Beach for energy efficiency improvements to four municipal buildings.

The Public Works Department building will get solar panels while the rest of the money covers smaller repairs and upgrades to City Hall, the Covention Center and the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, the Wilmington News Journal reports.

The start date for the projects is unknown, but the new roof on the Convention Center is expected to save the city nearly $15,000 a year alone.
