Grays Ferry D’Ambrosio bakery shuts down

    Order a cheesesteak or hoagie in Philadelphia and you know it’s just as much about the roll as it is what’s inside.

    There’s a little less roll competition out there today now that the Inquirer is reporting South Philly-based D’Ambrosio Bakery has shut down.

    The shut-down comes amid a failed attempt to sell the company, which has made “Philadelphia’s finest Italian bread and roles since 1939.”
