Going green: Gloucester Township to install solar panels on town hall roof

It may not be easy being green, but it’s not impossible, at least if you live in Gloucester Township.

The Gloucester County Times reports the township will use a federal grant for $564,900 to design and install solar panels on the roof of the town hall.

The panels are expected to save taxpayers an average of $4,900 each year on electric usage, according to the report.

The “Solar System” would also make the township eligible to sell “Solar Renewable Energy Credits,” which would end up opening a new source of revenue for the area.
