Gloucester County Times’ editor steps aside

When John Barna started at the Gloucester County Times newspaper in 1978 he worked part-time as a municipal reporter covering night time meetings. In 2007 he was named editor of that very same paper. Now, after almost 35 years, Barna is stepping aside.

Over the years Barna has worked as a police reporter, business reporter editor of The Weekender entertainment supplement, city editor, associate editor and finally editor, reports NJ.com.

“I wasn’t expecting to be here for almost 35 years, and to be editor for the past five was an honor and the pinnacle of this profession,” he said. “I’ll always have this paper in my heart after all the time and effort I’ve put into it.”
