Girl’s body found in Delaware River

Authorities say they may have found the body of one of the missing passengers aboard a Duck Boat that collided with a barge on the Delware River in Philadelphia Wednesday.

Authorities say they may have found the body of one of the missing passengers aboard a boat that collided with a barge on the Delaware River in Philadelphia.  Thirty-five people from the damaged Duck Boat made it to safety after Wednesday’s accident — leaving officials searching for two people.

The boat accident launched a massive investigation and a search – by air and water – for a twenty-year old man and a sixteen year old girl.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Crystal Kneen says a body was found in the Delaware River early Friday morning near where the barge and Duck Boat collided.

“The Philadelphia Fire Department recovered the body.  At this time it is unconfirmed on whether it was one of the two people in the water that the Coast guard and other agencies were searching for the last two days.”

Kneen says the Coast Guard doubted either of the missing passengers could still be alive, and last night they stopped searching.
