GFS awards Betty Turner

Germantown Friends School honored Betty Turner for her many years of volunteer service in Germantown and, most recently, for her work as co-founder and president of the Germantown Community Connections.

“At a time when Germantown is in a particularly tender and vulnerable place in terms of community organizations, Betty has taken a strong and positive leadership role,” said Kathy Paulmier, GFS’s Director of Community Involvement, at the awards ceremony last month.

Tyler Clauson-Wolf  (Class of 2011), co-captain of the GFS boys’ varsity basketball team, presented Turner with the Community Service award at the 21st Annual Germantown Community Basketball Tournament hosted by Germantown Friends School on December 10 and 11, 2010.
