Getting some skin in the game, fans line up for Eagles tattoos

Fans take advantage of free ink offer to show their support for the Birds. No one, however, actually bled green.

Many made the claim — but, when put to the test, no one actually bled green.

But many faithful Eagles fans Wednesday willingly added their blood to the sweat and tears they’ve expelled over the years on their team. They crowded into the waiting room at Moo Tattoo on South Street in Philadelphia for a  free tattoo, courtesy of Momentaryink.com, a start-up specializing in temporary tattoos.

The company also raffled away Eagles gear, including a Carson Wentz jersey.

None of the tattoo designs available claimed victory for the home team, but fan Nick Sherwin from Philly’s Francisville neighborhood said he plans to add some Lombardis to the image of an eagle carrying a football he had tattooed on his arm.

“I’m not gonna do it prematurely,” said Sherwin, adding that he’s sure the “good juju” will have a positive effect on the outcome of the game.

Gail Grover — an Eagles fan since 1960 — said when the Birds win the bowl, she’ll join the party on Broad Street with everyone else. She heard about the giveaway and wanted to show her love of the team by getting her first tattoo, the classic Eagles logo, on her arm.
