Get an early view of Race Street Pier and help raise money for the arts

Want to be among the first to experience the new Race Street Pier? The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is hosting a preview event featuring local fare and a fireworks display the evening of May 11 – the night before the new park opens to the public.

Race Street Pier is among the early waterfront projects meant to reconnect Philadelphia’s neighborhoods with the Central Delaware Waterfront. The DRWC is overseeing the master planning process that will yield a plan to revamp the entire central Delaware, from Oregon to Allegheny avenues.

Local restaurants will provide food for this Wednesday night event. Beverages from yards Brewing Company in Ansonia and wines and Luksusowa Vodka will also be served. There will also be what DRWC is billing as “ambient entertainment.”

Proceeds benefit arts programming on the waterfront. Tickets are $150 and available starting Friday, April 1, at www.racestreetpier.com. (note: the website won’t be live until Friday).
