Gallup polls Americans on their views of Clinton and Trump

NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller sits down for his weekly conversation with Gallup’s Frank Newport to talk about trends in U.S. opinion.

What are the biggest differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump ?

A new Gallup analysis shows that about a quarter of Americans don’t like either. Both have negatives to overcome, though Trump has the bigger unfavorable. It most likely comes down to their views on role of government; and their experience or explicit lack of experience.

At this very moment, 29 percent of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the country today. That’s below the average of 37 percent, since 1979.

The economy remains the nation’s most important problem, while other big problems include government itself, jobs and the election process itself.
