Funeral today for slain Freemansburg officer

Private and public funeral services will be held today for Freemansburg officer Robert Lasso. Lasso was killed on duty last week when he responded to a domestic dispute call in the borough outside of Allentown.

Following this morning’s private service, the 31-year-old will be honored in a public service at Northampton County Community College in Bethlehem, the Associated Press reports. His alleged killer is in custody.

Gov. Tom Corbett last week ordered all state flags at half-staff until Lasso’s service.
