Funding from tennis star gives Philadelphia charter school a new home

A Philadelphia charter school has a new home thanks to an unlikely ally.

Tennis star Andre Agassi’s Canyon-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund helped the Knowledge is Power Program Elementary Academy find a new space near 25th and Westmoreland streets, which the group celebrated yesterday.
CBS3 has a photo of yesterday’s ribbon-cutting, where Agassi and Mayor Michael Nutter were on hand for the big reveal at the former plumbing fixture factory. Agassi founded his own charter school in Las Vegas.
