Free Saturday parking at Philadelphia meters through New Year’s

Congratulations on making it through the Thanksgiving food fest and the Black Friday shopping.

Now just in time for Small Business Saturday, if you have any energy left at all, comes a little gift from the Philadelphia Parking Authority: free meter parking around the city on Saturdays (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) through New Year’s.

Lot-parkers will benefit, too. The AutoParks at Olde City, Independence Mall, Eight and Filbert, the Gallery, Jefferson and JFK Plaza will charge a flat $8 to those who park between 11 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturdays.
