Free Library begins book discussion as part of Year of Dickens series

Charles Dickens is alive and well in Philadelphia following a string of auditions to cast his likeness.

Now that Bala Cynwyd actress Lisa Litman has assumed the role, she’ll begin helping the Free Library of Philadelphia to celebrate a Year of Dickens in honor of the author’s 200th birthday.

Starting tonight, the library will hold monthly literary salons to discuss — what else? — Dickens novels. Tonight’s book cracks at 6:30 p.m., and it’s The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club.
