‘Franklin Mills Mall’ among top Google searches for 2011

What are Philadelphians searching for on Google?

In 2011, it was mostly about SEPTA. The transit authority was the most popular search query in the region this year, followed by the Philadelphia School District and Pa. unemployment.

But the seventh-most searched term on Google for this year was Franklin Mills Mall. Technically Philly broke down the data from Google’s annual Zeitgeist report, which takes the pulse of a region based on search queries.

Searches for the mall, which you can look at here,  peaked in February — not long after it was announced JCPenney was calling it quits at Franklin Mills (it was revealed this month that the store will return).

The 10th-most popular search around Philadelphia was for the Reading Terminal Market.
