Frankford Civic announces new acting president at start of November meeting

Before the Frankford Civic Association meeting got started Thursday, zoning officer Pete Specos had an announcement.

Alice Henry will withdraw from the board for personal reasons, with Specos taking the helm. Henry joined the board as vice president in January.

The Frankford Gazette has more details from the meeting, which included further details on proposed renovations planned for the Quicky Mart and its shopping center at Frankford Avenue and Unity Street.

Owner Harry Patel wants to boost business by renovating the entire shopping center, which he owns, and the inside of the Quicky Mart. Part of that plan includes selling beer and offering in-store seating.
