Former Wilmington Fire Chief laid to rest

Former Wilmington Fire Chief James Ford will be laid to rest this afternoon in Wilmington.

Funeral services for James Ford will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church followed by internment at Cathedral Cemetery on Lancaster Avenue.  Wilmington Police say drivers should expect delays on streets between the church and the cemetery between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave St. Elizabeth’s on Clayton Street and head to 4th St.  The procession will then head west on 4th to Union St., southbound on Union St. to Lancaster Ave., and westbound on Lancaster Ave. to Cathedral Cemetery.  Lancaster Ave. will be shut down for an undetermined time while the procession enters the cemetery.
