Former Sixer will receive honorary Haverford College degree

While his former Sixers teammate Allen Iverson was cursing at Atlanta cops, Dikembe Mutombo received word he’ll get an honorary degree next month.

When he speaks at Haverford College’s commencement ceremony May 15, Mutombo will get an honorary degree for his work in his native Congo, where he helped fund a new hospital.

He can add the degree to the one in linguistics and diplomacy he earned at Georgetown University. As the Associated Press reports, Mutombo speaks nine languages and has received numerous humanitarian awards.
