Former officer convicted of theft from Pat’s Cafe

A now-former Philadelphia Police Officer was convicted  Friday of stealing from Pat’s Cafe in Northwood.

Kenneth Crockett was arrested in July 2010 after he was seen on surveillance footage rummaging through the bar’s safe and taking money. Crockett and other officers arrived at the bar after responding to an unfounded burglary call nearby.

The 57-year-old was found guilty Friday of stealing $825 and is free on bail until his sentencing in January. Pat’s Cafe is where 15th District Officer Gary Skerski was killed in 2006 by an armed robber.

Crockett lives in Walton Park and was a police officer for 26 years. The other officers at the bar with him that night have been cleared.
