Food mag dubs Philly “Sandwich City”

It might not come as a surprise to locals, but Philadelphia has been named the ‘Sandwich City’ by a gourmet food magazine.

The Inquirer noted that the two-foot hoagie at Greenman’s Delicatessin and the chicken cutlet sandwiches at Shanks made the cut.

Savuer praised several local sandwich sites in their latest “Sandwich Issue” and even offered up recipes for the famed Schmitter from McNally’s Tavern in Chestnut Hill and Citizens Bank Park.
