The city of Philadelphia and surrounding area are under a flood warning. Joan Przybylowicz of the Office of Emergency Management says the ground is already highly saturated from melting snow, making flooding likely. People with basements that flood should prepare for the worst.

“You should be very cautious and you should be moving things in your basement to higher elevations stack it on shelves higher up or put them on the first floor,” Przybylowicz said.

She adds also not to go into the basement if it is flooded, because of the threat of electrocution. Przybylowicz says people also need to check their emergency supplies and make sure they have a working flashlight and spare batteries.
