First female Assistant Adjutant General in DE Nat. Guard

The first female Assistant Adjutant General of the Delaware Air National Guard will take her new post this weekend in a ceremony at the air base in New Castle.
The new Assistant Adjutant General for Air Brig. Gen. Carol Timmons will lead more than 1,000 Air Guardsmen.  Timmons has already broken the gender barrier in a number of other areas within the Guard.  She was the first female pilot and the first female general officer in the Delaware National Guard.  In 34 years of military service she has flown helicopters and fixed wing aircraft in the Air Force Reserve.  She spent most of her career flying C-130 cargo planes, including during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
