Fires in region

    This was a particularly disastrous weekend when it came to house fires. The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania released the following statistics today for fires over the weekend that necessitated aide work.

    Two Philadelphia fires:

    400 blk. of  Domino Lane                                21 families, 36 people (UPDATED totals)
    7000 blk. of Saybrook Ave.                             1 family, 4 people

    Two Chester County fires:

    200 blk. of Hurley Rd.  Coatesville                   1 family, 2 people
    400 blk. of Gay Street, Phoenixville                  2 families, 9 people

    Two East Montgomery County fires:

    E. Ridge Pike. Conshohocken (one fatality)       1 family, 6 people
    400 blk. of E. Lafayette St. Norristown             1 family, 3 people

    The Red Cross has provided these victims with money for food, clothing, emergency medicine, and supplies.  Several are staying in the Red Cross Center for Disaster Recovery in West Philadelphia.
