Fired up

The Wilmington Firefighters’ Association will hold a rally and protest for safety this afternoon as a response to the city’s reduction in department staffing.

Members of the association will gather in front of the City County Building at 4 p.m. to protest brownouts and the elimination of the Heavy Rescue Company. All shifts have been reducded from 34 to 30 firefighters per platoon.
