Filmmaker documents Windermere Court rally

Windermere Court Apartments was spared yesterday. For just a short while. Set to be demolished yesterday, the charred West Philadelphia building is now scheduled for demise tomorrow.

West Philly Local has been reporting on the situation, which residents are less than happy about. No one has been allowed  in the building to claim personal items and pets, and former inhabitants say the demolition has come too quickly.

Local filmmaker Daniel Brown and his company Wide Eyed Pictures was at yesterday’s rally, where former residents pleaded for access to their pets and possessions. Brown is set to continue filming tomorrow, showcasing the building’s undamaged area.

The building caught fire last month. Tenants will have a chance later today to access some of their things.
