Feds announce new initiative to cut government waste

Vice President Joe Biden has taken on a new role. The Delawarean has launched with President Barack Obama the Campaign to Cut Waste. Biden is charged with holding the Cabinet accountable for eliminating some of the waste from federal agencies as an add-on to the Accountable Government Initiative.

“Over the last two years, we have been slashing waste across government and today we are putting Washington on notice:  the President and I are committed to changing the way government works and we are stepping up the hunt for misspent dollars,” Biden said during a White House address.

As part of the move, Biden announced a new oversight accountability board and has called for regular meetings to require agencies to issue progress reports.
