Farnese pulls opposition of plan key to Philadelphia’s budget approval

“The first and most obvious problem with AVI is that the Mayor wants to implement a property reassessment scheme without, and this is amazing, knowing the actual property values.”

Those were Pa. Sen. Larry Farnese’s words last month as he expressed opposition to Philadelphia’s actual value initiative to reasses property taxes.

But it seems as though Farnese has changed his tune.

WHYY/NewsWorks’ Tom MacDonald was there this morning as Farnese joined Council President Darrell Clarke to announced he’s pulling his amendment to legislation changing the real estate tax millage — a major state hurdle in getting the city’s budget passed.
