Embark with Zeke Emanuel

    Listen

A year ago, physician-bioethicist Ezekiel “Zeke” Emanuel came to Philadelphia to help forge the new Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Yes, his brother is Chicago mayor, Rahm. His other brother is Ari, a Hollywood agent and the model for Ari Gold on the HBO drama “Entourage.” But it’s Zeke’s work that may have the longest-lasting influence over time. He served as a health policy adviser to President Obama and is still very much in the fight to shape the national conversation on health care in America.

His newest book “Brothers Emanuel: A Memoir” is due out in early 2013.

Emanuel is a resident of Philadelphia’s Fitler Square neighborhood now, but commutes to Washington each week to his post at the Center for American Progress.
