Elegy for Evans

Northwest Philly residents aren’t taking kindly to the unseating of Rep. Dwight Evans as House Approporations Chair.

Patrick Cobbs spoke with residents in Evans’ 203rd District, where he championed projects like the Ogontz Avenue Revialization Corporation, to discuss how they feel about losing their voice in Harrisburg.

“If you grew up in this area you can see the impact he has had in the community,” said Khaliya Butler of West Oak Lane. “Drugs and crime went down a lot. A lot of black-owned businesses. A lot of stuff might go down the drain.”
