Early morning fire in West Oak Lane leaves seven residents seeking shelter

At around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, a fire broke out at 6855 Ogontz Ave., a two-story home occupied by five adults and two children.

When fire crews arrived, the twin home had heavy fire coming from the attic. By 2 a.m. the blaze was under control, fire officials said later in the day.

No residents or firefighters were hurt, but the Red Cross was called to provide relief and follow-up care for those whose home had been rendered uninhabitable.
