Dry cleaners no stranger to Philly’s heatwave

Health & Science reporter Carolyn Beeler spent a scorching Wednesday morning talking to construction workers who were getting ready to spend the day below ground, making the 90-plus degree street-level temps feel like air conditioning.

It’s even hotter today, but you don’t have to tell the dry cleaners. While the rest of us spend the day whining about the heat, dry cleaners tell KYW temperatures in their work areas can reach 150 degrees.

In fact, it gets so hot, the employees seek relief outside in the shade. Are you hugging your air conditioner yet?
