DRPA offers opportunity to save money on bridge tolls, but it’s not automatic

There is a discount to be had if you are a frequent user of the Delaware River Port Authority bridges, but it’s not automatic.

DRPA CEO John Hanson says in order to qualify for the commuter discount of $18 a month you have to go to the E-Z Pass website and punch in the number for your transponder.

“The most widely known is the senior discount plan and then we have union plans that includes some free passages and there are non-revenue plans for our trucks,” he said.

Hanson says it may take a few minutes to sign up for the discount, but it only has to be done once.

“I apologize for the inconvenience but the good news is you sign up for this once and you will never have to do it again.”
