DREAM activists rally to prevent Allentown man’s deportation

DREAM activists today will be in Center City to rally for and around Miguel Angel Orellano Garcia. The Allentown resident faces deportation after a court date later this month.

Garcia is 24, has a young son and is expecting his second child with his long-time partner, according to rally organizers at the National Immigrant Youth Alliance. They and members of DreamActivist.org will be at 15th and JFK at 5 p.m. with Garcia’s girlfriend, mother and lawyer.

Miguel came to America from El Salvador when he was 9, and has been living as an undocumented immigrant ever since.

Activists today hope to move Immigration and Customs Enforcement to release him from immigration detention.
