Donovan’s Reef Tiki bar to reopen soon
A Sea Bright landmark destroyed by Hurricane Sandy is making a comeback.
Donovan’s Reef, the lively beach bar, is tentatively scheduled to reopen on July 1.
According to management, the open-air Tiki bar and temporary structures will open first, with a permanent building slated for construction in September.
Various issues, including finances and possible deed restrictions, kept the business from reopening last year.
But the owners have resolved those issues.
For decades, the spot was well-known as a live music venue, attracting Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
