Donated cell phones will help soldiers call home

Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. has provided more than 114 million minutes of talk time to soldiers across the world. Northeast Philly residents are invited to help even more soldiers call home by donating their gently used cell phones.

Councilman Brian O’Neill, R-10th, is partnering with the company to collect old phones that can be recycled to fund prepaid international calling cards to be distributed to soldiers.

Anyone who wishes to donate a phone can do so at either of O’Neill’s district offices – 11630 Caroline Rd. or the 2nd floor of the 7th District Police building at Bustleton Avenue and Bowler Street.
