Dog of the Week: Peyton

Peyton has been adopted by a family in Allentown.

Hi! My name is Peyton and I am a good dog who is looking for a forever home and a family to call my own.

I will listen to your commands, give you slobbery doggy kisses, make you laugh with my silliness, cuddle up with you at night, play catch with you, follow you wherever you go and be your faithful companion for life.

Since I am only about 1 year old I still have lots of puppy energy, but if I am given the proper outlet for it I love relaxing with people and even other dogs. At night I just want to be warm and snuggle — just this Sunday I shared my doggie bed with my foster sister Cassidy and we slept together all night.

A good way to get my energy out is to take me on walks, and I love adventures into Pennypack Park. I love hoping over big branches and trees, climbing under shrubs, smelling all the smells and even going right up to the water’s edge. I also enjoy running around in the yard and trying to get my foster sister to chase me but she can’t keep up. I chase the toy my foster dad throws to me and bring it back until I can’t run anymore.

You don’t have to worry about me messing up your carpets, either, because I am fully house trained and will hold it all day until you get home from work. I have learned how to sit, stay, shake, and even how to sit handsome — that’s my favorite trick.

I don’t protect my food and share it with my foster sister and don’t bother her while she eats. I am also very polite while waiting for treats. Like I said before, I am a great dog who just needs someone who can spend the time with me that I need.

During the day I go into my crate without an issue and wait patiently until you get home to see me. I only need to go into my crate because my foster sister is old and I haven’t learned all my doggie manners yet. My foster Dad has left me alone out of my cage several times while he went to the corner store and mowed the lawn. I was a good dog and just cried for him to come back. Did I mention I love human company?  People are great and I love when they pet me. Please, won’t you give me a chance to bring some happiness and lots of silliness into your life?

Peyton is currently in Foster care and you can find out more about him and meet him by contacting his foster parent at ACCTFOSTERDAD AT gmail.com
