Divine Lorraine fire under investigation

Authorities are investigating the cause of last night’s fire at the Divine Lorraine on North Broad Street.

“At least seven fire trucks and six other police and emergency vehicles are parked outside the building with their lights flashing,” WHYY/NewsWorks’ Elizabeth Fiedler reported at 7:30 last night.

Philly.com reports the fire was reported at 6:50 p.m. and declared under control before 8 p.m.

Smoke could be seen escaping the upper floors as crews worked around the decaying building to extinguish the blaze.
