District Attorney charges off-duty cop with murder

Philadelphia’s District Attorney, Seth Williams, has quickly charged a Philadelphia Police Officer with murder in a Sunday shooting incident.
Williams says murder charges were warranted immediately against off-duty police officer Rudolph Gary in the murder of his former brother-in-law Howard Williams. He says the investigation shows an altercation just got out of hand.
“People started screaming shoving, he ends up shooting an individual multiple times,” says Seth Williams. ” In the course of the shooting two innocent bystanders were shot. So looking at it from that standpoint and looking at those facts, there’s enough evidence to have him arrested right now. No reason to send any this type of case to a grand jury or prolong it anymore.”
Williams says, in addition to murder charges, Gary will face aggravated assault charges for the bystanders who were shot.
Gary has also been suspended from the police force with intent to dismiss.
